Question which vr goggles do you use?

hi guys

i am looking at getting into VR and have decided which gpu to get.

problem is i am not sure which vr goggle to get now.

any recommendation on one please?

my budget will be around 400 pound, could go higher for the right one.

I use the 256 GB Oculus (Meta?) Quest 2 for everything except MS Flight Simulator... for that I use the HP Reverb G2 due to the higher resolution.

can i ask why you changed goggles for the racing? i would have thought they all mostly do the same thing?

Highly recommended. You can run it off apps that are on your PC directly with a cable connection or connect wirelessly via air link... or download them to the headset for portable VR.

Just an FYI, I'm running a Lenovo Explorer. I don't think you could get one of them these days and even if you could, I wouldn't recommend it. It works well enough, but there are much better options out there.

Hey there,

I'd agree with @TravisPNW . I've the quest 2, and it's the best of both worlds Standalone VR and PC VR. Airlink has come along way, and runs flawlessly (at least on my system. Thethered mode (LinkCable) is pretty flawless. Have tried a few games, like Half Life :Alix, F122, Star Wars: Squadrons (PC) and the quest 2 handles it very well.

For Airlink you need to have a 5g internal wireless speeds. If not, it can be sometimes patchy deepening on how far away the router is. I used a simple Powerline set up to create mesh type coverage in my house. Works well.

I also have a Quest 2. I don't know what they and Valve did recently but the setup for wireless play is rather seamless. It took me around a half hour to get it set up (again) and was surprised I didn't have to fiddle with like going into Steam VR first.

I'm also on a 802.11ac (I think this is Wi-Fi 5 now) network and I didn't have any hiccups, though I'm fairly close to the router so there's that.
