[SOLVED] Which Wi-Fi 6 AX201 model to pick?

I have a very cheap Intel NUC11ATKPE which has a Wireless-AC 9462 card. I need to upgrade this as I have only problems because of it.
It seems I need the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 card. But which one to choose:

Likely I have to chose between AX201.NGWG.NVW vs AX201.NGWG.NV but there are also others listed and I don't know which one to chose.

this one is normal m2 wifi module

AX201D2W - Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth® 5.2, M.2 1216
AX201D2WL - Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth® 5.2, M.2 1216 ; LTE Coe
those 2 arent compatible with normal m2 wifi slot, difference between those is one is with LTE and other without it

then theres also if module is vPro or not

cant find which wifi module size your nuc supports, you will need to open it and see if its normal m2 or whats shown on picture above

My current 9462 looks exactly like this:

So, I guess I need the AX201NGW, also this is an Essential NUC, it doesn't support vPro.
The only question would be what is the difference beween AX201.NGWG.NVW and AX201.NGWG.NV
What I could spot is one supports WiFi a/x and the other ax. If indeed there is a difference.

it might be too soon to order it
ax201 is using CNVio2 interface, while 9462 is using CNVio, it is not backward compatible
so you will need another type, AX200 (wifi 6) or AX210 (wifi 6E) without CNVi

This NUC has a CPU from the Jasper Lake family so maybe it will support it. I googled for 9462 and AX201 pictures and the pins seems to be identical. My NUC is from the Essential family but the same generation of NUCs from the High Performance series are using AX201. I guess I'll see when it arrives.

Anyway, this Intel naming is very confusing. However, I have also found this:

AC 9462 and AX201 are mentioned on the same page.
I guess I have to test to finally confirm it.

acording to product sheet
9462 is using CNVio
AX201 is using CNVio2
look in connector interface
and according to wiki, CNVio2 is not backward compatible with CNVio
it needs different CPU for it to work

here you can see other people upgrading from cnvio to cnvio2 with system not even booting and complaining to intel

Interesting. Now I want to test myself, so I'm not canceling my order for the AX201. My guess is that CNVio is supported up to Intel CPU 9th generation and CNVio2 is supported from 10th generation and up. My guess is that 10th generation and up will support also CNVio. I will test and see. For now, I don't trust that wiki, it's not an official Intel source. I will report here my findings.

Reporting back in case someone has the same problem, I replaced the AC 9462 card with the AX201 and it worked right out the box. So, the Intel NUC11ATKPE and the Pentium Silver N6005 CPU suports both the CNVio and CNVio2.
