which will be better for me 4k or 144hz

im ccurrently in the market for a new monitor and im torn between a 1080p/1440p 144hz monitor and a 4k monitor. i want to replace my rather small feeling 21.5 inch monitor . i have a 1070 and a amd 9000series cpu (cant remeber to model). im afraid i cant run 4k but at the same time i dont want to be left behind with a low resolution in 2 years when gpus and cpus can probably eat 4k for breakfast. the games i play the most are battlefield/battlefront, black ops 3, black ops 2, overwatch, the 4 batman arkham games, injustice, tf2, doom and the 3 just cause games. looking for a 27 to 32 inch monitor. any suggestions?

You are probably better off with 1080P or 1440P monitors for fast action gaming.

The 4k monitors available today are limited to 60fps because of limited connection bandwidth.
Your GTX1070 should be fine for some time at 1080P or 1440P.
Your amd cpu core speed is more likely to be the limiting factor in games.

And... When it comes time to upgrade graphics, replace the GTX1070 with Titan x ,GTX1080 or the ti follow on.
You will win fps benchmarks with sli, but gameplay is better with a good single card.
