Hi, i am wondering if it is worth upgrading the Amd A10 7700k Proccessor to a more advanced CPU like the FX 8350 or Should i upgrade my DDR3 8GB ram to 16gb?

SPECS:
CPU: AMD A10 7700K
GPU: Msi Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 4GB
PSU: Evga Bronze 650w
Motherboard: Msi a78m-e35 v2

Also i know i need a new kind of motherboard as my current one doesn't support FX only FM2+ but i already got that covered. Thank you!

Solution
8GB is enough for gaming, you'd gain a small benefit going for 16GB that is virtually unnoticeable.

You certainly need a better CPU, but an FX-8350 is not the solution unless you're getting it at a really low price and the other mobo you have for it has at least a 8+2 Phase Modulators (VRM).

Otherwise I suggest going with a Ryzen CPU+ a B350 mobo (and ddr4 ram), whichever your budget can cover, even its lowest product, the ryzen 1200 will perform far better than your current one, but if you can aim for a ryzen 1500x by all means go for it. For RAM if possible go with the highest frequency.

non ryzen amd is something to avoid if possible. I would go for new MBO
ryzen 1400 is fine and opens you a path for ryzen-7 or its future successor

If your budget only allows for a fx cpu upgrade, then this is what I can tell u : you will experience fps dips to low 30s and have a avg fps about 40s in latest games. So this would be suitable for a 60hz monitor.

And like others said, if you can get the fx dirt cheap, go for it. Or get a ryzen 1300x on a b350 like the asrock pro4 and call it a day.
