I have a Sapphire Radeon RX570 I can put in if needed (after research... I don't know too much about GPUs)

My instinct is the Alienware one despite the worse processor...

But yeah, thoughts would help hugely

The second machine is better overall as it's an up to date platform and that i5-8400 is a better bet for gaming than a 4th gen i7.

It's true that the rx580 is slightly better than a 1060 6gb but honestly the gap isn't big enough to make a meaningful difference in games (you won't be able to play on higher settings on the 580 for example).

The only downside to the second machine is it's using HDD drives- however SSD drives are cheap so you could easily add that at a later date.

Second one is much newer with a prospect to upgrade. It's GPU is a tad better than your Rx 570 so you should keep it. Also has DDR4 memory. All together much better.

Just putting this out there, you could build a new system and slot your RX 570 in there for similar or less cash.

Advantages being - better CPU, more futureproof platform (option of a CPU upgrade as well as the better CPU) and a warranty on the parts unlike 2nd hand where there's 0 warranty.

Your RX 570 is not far off either the RX 580 or GTX 1060 in performance.

That is a fair idea. Where would storage fit into that? Sorry for my ignorance heh...

As for where it goes, in the case of the SSD above it plugs into the M.2 slot on the motherboard and is secured with 1 screw. Other storage goes into the 3.5 and 2.5" bays in the case.
