Which would you guys recommend

I am trying to decide between 3 LCDs.

First one is
ViewSonic Optiquest Series Q22wb Black 22" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 900:1

Its really good priced, good brightness and decent contrast. Only downside is 5ms. I dont know if it will really make a difference though

Second one
SAMSUNG 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1

This one is better contrast and its 2ms. Same brightness but quite a bit more expensive

Third
Dell E228WFP

The last one is 5ms again, in between price. same bright ness but less contrast.

Im leaning towards the first due to price, but main question. I play a lot of FPS games and this is going to be paired up with a brand new high end PC (8800gtx, e6600 OC, 2 gb, etc), Is the difference between 2ms and 5ms worth the 60 or 70 bucks difference??

The Samsung 226BW is arguably one of the best 22" LCD out there. However there is a panel lottery which means there are actually two versions of this monitor. The "S" panel is coveted by nearly everyone who wants to buy this LCD monitor. The "A" panel is despised by almost everyone because the image quality sucks compared to the "S" panel. There is no way to tell which panel you get until you look at the sticker on the back of the monitor.

My choice would probably be the Dell E228WFP. Based on a review it is a very good monitor. It is also the only 22" LCD (which of know of) that does not rely on "overdrive technology" to have fast response times. Overdrive tech tends to cause color inaccuracies and 6-bit TN panels, which all 22" LCDs uses, inherently have poor color accuracies compare to more expensive P-MVA, S-PVA and S-IPS panels.

I'm not too familiar with the Viewsonic Optiquest series, but the Optiquest line is their "value" line of monitors.

Note: If you were to buy the Samsung 226BW from any on-line retailer and you get the despised "A" panel you're kinda of stuck with it unless you are will to pay for return shipping and a 15% restocking fee. It's better to buy this monitor from a brick and mortor store where you can return it without charge. Just be sure to read the store's policy.

Is the 5ms and 2ms going to make a difference really?

I also think that the DELL E228WFP is better but like SAMSUNG they also

play the "Russian roulette panel game" only with the DELL you really don't

know what panel you get no A or S with the DELL.

what panel you will get if you buy the DELL better or worse only GOD

knows .

I actually ended up getting the Samsung. I went to Circuit city because they had it for 329.99 plus i had a 10 percent coupon but all they had were A's. So i went to best buy and no luck, same with office max. Finally stopped at Office Depot and not only did they have the S in stock but they matched the price and gave me the 10% off. So i got one for 296.xx. Works for me
