Which X99 Motherboard

I'm building a PC, solely for design software usage. Im currently working out which motherboard is best for my needs. I will be using the i7 5820k. Initially only using one GPU and I think the m.2 3x4 functionality stands out as something i would like to have available. Can anyone suggest any good boards?

Not sure about what you mean by 3x4 (three x4 slots?), but this list should help you in choosing:

All have M.2 slots and are SLI capable, pick your choice. If you ask me, I'd go for GB UD4, great board.

Thanks MeteorsRaining, the m.2 slot in that UD4 is a grade below the technology (from what i can see - im not a techie, but have been reading up as best i can) and only allows for 10Gb/s, other boards such as ASUS X99 E WS, ASUS X99 DELUXE, or MSI X99 SLI PLUS offer speeds of up to 32Gb/s with the newer technology. Is there a particular reason the UD4 is recommended by you? Its similar pricing to the MSI one above.

Yes the M.2 is quite weak compared to 32GB/s versions. 32GB/s drives have not surfaced the market yet so didn't bother much about it, but yes the MSI and Asus counterparts do have newer tech. They usually take up PCIe 2.0 x4 bandwidth as well.

The reason I recommended it (not sure if that affects you) was because it is a great board for OCing, slightly better than MSI counter part. X99-E WS and Deluxe are ofcourse better but pricier too, so I refrained from recommending them w/o knowing the rough budget for the board.
