I already build couple PC's in my life and this is the first time I am seeing things like this... I was building a PC for a friend, every new part from the store was carefully selected and I have checked CPU compatibility list to see if the CPU is supported by this motherboard (Yes it is) and other stuff.
This PC has:
Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3 H87 s.1150
Intel Core i5-4690 3,5 GHz 6MB cache s. 1150 Box.
2 sticks of Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR3-1600 Non-ECC CL9 Black KHX16C9B1B/4.
Gigabyte GF GTX760 2048MB 256Bit PCI-E OC
Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB sATA III 64MB.
Chieftec A80 Series CTG-600-80P Bulk 600W.
and is put together in this case Zalman Z3 Black USB 3.0.
I have put everything correctly, made sure that every part is connected properly etc, I have tried to turn off the PC and here is how it does:
Power LED lights on and fans start spinning for 1 second (both case fans and CPU fans and GPU fans) -> then pc turns off itself -> then pc turns on itself for a second (again everything for a second maybe two spins) -> then everything turns off itself -> and it's in this endless loop for eternity.
There is no beep errors from system speaker, no warnings nothing.
I have proceeded then to slowly removing components to see if it boot:
First I have removed the GPU as there is the integrated one so it should boot = not working
Then I removed one ram stick, tried swapping ram sticks, tried different ram slots = not working
Then I've checked CPU, if there is a pin bend or something, everything seems fine = still not working
Then I've removed both ram sticks, and booted the pc = not working
Then I proceeded to removing cpu and turning it On... well it gives the same signals when I remove the cpu from the slot and turn it On (meaning it turns itself for a second, then turn itself off.
Then I proceeded to checking the PSU on different pc with core 2 duo on board, 2gb of ddr2 and geforce 9500, PC turned on properly and everything worked fine so the PSU might be Ok.
Then I checked if I put isolation pads on every screw on the motherboard, everything was there, I didn't miss one = still not working
I checked if there isn't any extra screws bellow the motherboard that could technically connect case with motherboard and made problems but the only screws I saw ware the ones where the holes In motherboard was and motherboard was connected via screws to them.
Right now I am out of ideas on what could be happening, I am thinking out of those categories that either:
- (might be 90% of chance that this might be the case but I don't have any means of confirming it) The cpu is supported by this motherboard, but there might be outdated bios on the motherboard and thats why it doesn't start because the older bios don't support this CPU and thats why it isn't starting
- (I think there might be 40% chance of this, but I have no means to confirm this - i don't own spare hardware so I would have to go to store where we bought the stuff) CPU or Motherboard is broken out of the box and needs replacing for a new working one.
Could someone please help me and explain what is going so very very wrong over here, what steps I could take to determine the cause and fix it etc. I am counting on you guys because this whole thing is starting to depress me... Please Help Me
