while performing this operation chkdskh:f - its showing FAT SYSTEM PROBLEM-there is no readable file allocation table-pls help

when I connect my ex hd -it is asking to format the disk for use or cancel it,I have tried the mentioned method chkdsk h:/f but it is showing that can not read from fat system---there is no readable file allocation table-- pls help.

Uhm yeah means the drive either is wiped already OR is broken and unusable. If your that adamit about recovering the data you would need to send it off to get data recovery done which is usually a few thousand dollars to do.
