Question Whis NVME M.2 is better for my motherboard?

Samsung 970 Evo Plus MZ-V7S500BW or Samsung 980 for motherboard B450 TOMAHAWK MAX?

What processor have you paired onto the motherboard's socket? How much do each of those Samsung drives cost you? If the cost is the same and we have to choose between the two listed above, then my vote goes for the 970 Evo Plus.

Make sure you're on the latest BIOS update prior to dropping CPU/ram/M.2 drives as upgrades onto the motherboard.

Ryzen 5 5600x,

980 is 55€

970 evo plus is 65€

I would tend towards the 970 option. The bare 980 has not got a DRAM cache, this can hurt transfer speeds.
