The M12 or EVGA options are quality PSUs, I'm not knocking them by any means.

The CX450 is more than capable too - and would be more likely to operate within the efficiency stats for the 80+ certification (although impact to your electricity bill would be negligible at best.

Your current "High Power Electronics" 600W PSU can't provide stable power, not because "600W" isn't enough, but because the High Power unit is extremely poor quality.

The PSUs listed by boosted1g are quality, but are also at least 50% higher in cost than the CX450. ($60-$90) vs the $40 CX450.

Correct. I'd disagree with boosted1g on that point (considering a 120W...

Really? A 120W GPU and 65W CPU.... and a locked chip at that.

A CX450 would have ample headroom, I'd expect a peak load of no more than 250W.
With a (quality) 500W unit, you'd likely fall outside of peak efficiency too (being <50% load)... although that doesn't matter much.

Anyway, agree to disagree.

Correct. I'd disagree with boosted1g on that point (considering a 120W GPU, 65W GPU, 5-10W for RAM, 10W maybe for the HDD etc. Lucky to even be a 250W system at absolute max load) - but that's just my opinion. Boosted1g is entitled to his too.
