So I just replaced my Gtx 660 ti with a new Gtx 970. Power is all plugged in and gpu is connected to motherboard. The fans turned on and lifts turned on on the Gtx 970, but I am getting a black screen with a white blinking dash. Does thIs mean I need a bios update if so how do I do that? Would I have to plug my monitor into my integrated card and some how update the bios from there? Please help!

This should be where you can get the latest files to update your BIOS.

Be sure and double check that is your motherboard before downloading, as a wrong bios flash can make your issue worse.

If that is correct, or you find the correct motherboard, download the latest (non-beta) BIOS version, and put it to a USB device.

Then boot into your BIOS, and look for a setting that allows you to update your BIOS version.
Sorry, i can't remember what it is called, or where it is in the MSI AMI BIOS.
