A couple of times after turning on my PC and opening steam, a white box would occasionally appear at the bottom left of my screen. It blocks everything (chrome, explorer, etc) and such.

Anyone knows how to fix this? I've tried ending stream process through task manager, which doesn't work. Also virus scans shows nothing (atleast from malwarebytes)

EDIT: Also restarting seems to fix it, but it would come back sometime again

The Start Menu always sits on top of other windows, so that blank square is something to do with the Start Menu. And if you're using Classic Shell that means it's something to do with that program. If it only happens after running Steam, then Steam and Classic Shell aren't playing nicely for some reason.

Unless somebody else has had the exact same problem, it's going to be a matter of fiddling with it all to try and fix it, possibly reinstalling Classic Shell, or even uninstalling it (I'm guessing you'd rather lose that than Steam) if the box gets too annoying and there's no other fix such as e.g. rebooting after using Steam and then not using Steam until you have to.
It looks about the position, size and shape of your Start men

Could be a whole host of causes and fixes, from the Registry to the Icon Cache. Try first to get to the bottom of whether it is your Start menu playing you up - does your Start menu ever work properly, can you get rid of that box/make it appear by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard, that type of thing.

I use Classic Shell, and pressing the windows key puts the menu on top of the white box, which is odd as every other program is below the box.
