Question White Patch in Monitor

Hey everyone, just wanted to ask about this white patch I'm seeing on my monitor. Not sure if I should stop using it or not.

A little back story, this monitor has been around for 10 years lol so it might be the case of wear and tear. But another thing I changed is going from 750Ti to 1050Ti. Plus using a VGA to DVI connector.

Looks like either the liquid crystals in the monitor are going bad, or the polarizing film is degrading. If it's noticeable when on, then ya it's time to get a new monitor.
