white speckled cloudlike formation on my monitor - what could it be

Of late i have noticed a whitish speckled cloudlke formation on my monitor whih of course is noticable when my LCD monitors accepts a video signal from my PC on boot up.

Is it a sign of wear out and deteriration? Can I do somethinmg abut this?

Is the discolouration caused by the video input or is the monitor itself just dirty (or maybe dying)?

Perhaps the signal quality is low because of an old DVI/VGA/HDMI/DP cable. Swap out the cable with a new one and see if that improves the quality.

Bent pin typically. Had the same issue on my new ASUS monitor. Bent pins usually cause this as well as "old" cables. Either check the connection or replace cable. That's about as easy as it gets!
