Hey i just got new monitor (Acer XB241YU) and on the first page of use manual it says:

"Spray non-solvent solution onto a rag and clean screen gently"

"NEVER SPRAY OR POUR ANY LIQUID DIRECTLY ONTO SCREEN OR CASE"

"PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY AMMONIA OR ALCOHOL-BASED CLEANERS ON LCD DISPLAY SCREEN OR CASE"

"Do not place monitor near a window. Exposing the monitor to rain, moisture or sunlight can severely damage it"

So after this i found this article:

http://www.howtogeek.com/170080/the-how-to-geek-guide-to-cleaning-your-lcd-monitor-screen/

They are recommending distilled water and white vinegar in a 50/50 mix? Can anyone confirm this as a real deal or is this just a joke? If it is, can anyone recommend me a cleaning solution for my new monitor?

Thanks.

"Do not place monitor near a window. Exposing the monitor to rain, moisture or sunlight can severely damage it" What about this part? Isn't water moisture?

I already have problem with this, my monitor looks like it was already cleaned with something, it has billions of super small black dots on it (its not dead pixels), and i'm afraid if i clean it with water, i will make things even worse. Also i'm not sure are those dots just trapped water that is blocking the normal path of light combined with black texture of pixels themselves or are those just leftovers of some dried out moisture that came with air? Any idea?

Standard boilerplate text.

Sunlight?
Yes...if it is subject to direct sunlight for several hours a day, the UV will eventually screw up the plastic.

Rain from an open window?
Of course. If rain is pouring in, and the thing gets wet...bad things might happen.

I see that you've been messing with this monitor for a couple of weeks.
Is it actually messed up? Or is it just dirty?
Or are those 'black spots' simply the way a monitor is made?
