anyone else thinking on these lines?
There is no point in buying a DX 10.x card today.
After win 7 is released, DX11 cards will be released, and they will carry drivers support and updates far longer than DX10 cards.
Also, Nvidia still utilising the Geforce 8xxx design (they renamed them), with modifications, and it is getting old.
So, nvidia, (since got weak competence from ATI, wich had problems being absorbed by AMD), did not utilised state of the art designs, and is expected to throw it in Geforce 3xx. It can get a big boost from DDR5, a new processor design, and smaller technology. We also expect ATI to figth back hard, so probably DX11 cards will be much better, and push down DX10 prices.
Since they are near, there is no point in buy a card today.
