Who let the dogs in?(not out)

I think pets are great but they don't belong in the work place, the grocery store, on an airplane, etc. Service animals are an exception but I despise people that abuse the system. Your pet turkey is not a support animal. It's dinner.

Im with you, the "companion dogs" and all this new age crap has gotten so abused and out of hand. I need to bring my dog with me to poop all over your floor because I am too stressed out and incapabie of dealing with normal day to day problems.

Really? Thank you for that opinion. It's obviously emotionally charged and so very manly. There are MEN who had cajones the size of Texas but war changed things. Thre are dogs which help them. They should just man up. Seeing those children running towards their base with hand grenades at the ready and having to shoot them is nothing. Suck it up and get over it. Watching your buddies lose limbs is part of the job. Get over it. Seeing a parent die is just part of life. Man up!!!

Your comment in my opinion was VERY insensitive and shortsighted. Not everybody has the mind of steel and perfect mental faculties such as you have. But no. Everybody is born with perfect mental health and all the tools to keep it that way. People can accept that Joe blow can't change out his trans-axle and replace his water pump after he replaces his timing chain. But once things get mental EVERYBODY should have all the tools necessary.

Those dogs are trained. Think they would approve a dog with irritable bowl syndrome? A dog with incontinence? They are looking to help the owner and NOT give them another problem.

Don't want them in the workplace? Cool. Insulting the service dogs and millions with PTSD and other issues? Not cool.

You completely miss-read my post. I said Service animals are an exception. They are a valuable tool for disabled people. It's wrong to purchase a "service animal" harness online and place it on their Chihuahua so they can take it into the grocery store. C'mon man!

I am sorry I didn't label my response which was directed at boosted1g.

That response was cold and uhhh let's leave it at that.

Your response was a constructive opinion. I respect that. I did not post this question just to push my opinion forward and slam anybody who disagreed. Boosted's response wasn't constructive or intelligent.

I worked in an office that allowed dogs to come to work on Fridays and it seemed fun a couple of times but realistically any work environment with actual work going on is probably not one the dog is really going to enjoy without interfering in the work of others.

This office was an advertising firm staffed with creative types and had a generally liberal work atmosphere with regular parties ect ... so the pets thing was a small part. Probably not in the top 100 things I would consider when trying to improve the work environment.

I think a good starting place would be welcoming them at a company picnic so people could introduce them around without pretending that they are somehow boosting your productivity.
