Who makes ssd firmware the ssd company or sandforce

was wondering who makes the firmware for ssd drives the actual company or sandforce who make the controller?

im looking at sandisk extreame ssd wich looks great compared to most drive specifly compareing it to corsair gt, however im kinda iffy about it because in the AS Copy Test sandisk is blown away but is faster then most drives including intel in some areas
