Who remembers the $41 XP1700 JIUHB?

I was going over some of my old Newegg invoices last night, and I was
reminded of how many of the XP1700s I bought from Newegg in 2003 - 23 of
them, to be exact. Has there EVER been a better value in cpu's? I was
getting them for $41, shipped! I overclocked virtually every one of them -
with the clients' approval, of course - and I'm happy to say that I haven't
had a single warranty issue. They are all still out there running like
crazy. That was the most flexible cpu I've ever worked with. Some of them
seemed to oc indefinately. What a great time that was for building fast
machines for very little money.

I was also reminded of the ECS K7S5A/Pro mobos I was getting for about $40,
shipped, and oc'ing using the cheepoman bios. I could hit 2ghz+ a year and
a half ago for $80!!!

Hay! I 've been running one for a couple of years now. Switches between
11x225=2.4ghz @ 1.93v for gaming, and 5x225=1120 @1.175v for surfing (no
fans needed!) without a peep of complaint.

Yes, I'd love to swap it for a MBarton, but who would buy my 1700+ nowadays?
My next upgrade will most likely come when Athlon64 is hitting 4500+
ratings.

You might be surprised. The JIUHBs are still bringing $40-$50 on eBay. I
remember them going for $80 right after Newegg quit selling them!!!! Ebay
never ceases to amaze me.

You could be in a M Barton for as little as $35, but honestly I'm not sure
you'd realize that much of a difference. BTW, 2.4 is SMOKING with that
chip. How are you cooling?

I used a buy it now with free shipping that was 10 to 30 dollars less than
anyone elses price for the same item. No luck selling for me.

I have an XP1700 I am not using anymore. How can I tell if it's the
JIUHB? It's marked as follows:

AMD-K6
AMD-K6-233ANR
3.2v Core / 3.3V I/O
C 9822BPDW

Anyone interested in buying it?

TIA!

XP1700+ K6? extremely rare, one of a kind, that's one helluva
performance rating for a 233MHz chip. I heard they were good
overclockers though. Maybe you could sell it on ebay-collectibles..

looking at my old K6 233! Doh!! I canceled the post but I guess not
fast enough.

just havin' a little fun with ya. The 1700 should have JIUHB on the
label, something like: AXDA1700DUT3C 9416856281038 JIUHB 0311TPMW
If it is a JIUHB or a AIUHB I may be interested. Let me know what you
want for it. removethisbyspec@yahoo.com
