So, I have this old 5th gen celeron notebook and I wanted to improve its usability with an SSD, and when trying to discover if it had a sata 3 port, aida64 gave me misleading information. Under "Disk Device Physical Info", it says that my drive's interface is SATA II.

However, under ATA device properties, the device type is SATA III.
CrystalDiskInfo also says the drive is SATA 600, which should mean sata III, while hwinfo states that the drive controler is ATA 6Gb/s and the "ATA transport version supported" is also SATA 3.

Who should I trust?

(this is from hwinfo report and Port#5 is probably my cd rom)
Code:
[SATA Port#0]
Port Status: Device Present, Phy communication established
Current Interface Speed: Gen3 6.0 Gbps
External SATA Port: Not Capable
Hot Plug: Not Capable
Device Type: SATA

[SATA Port#5]
Port Status: Device Present, Phy communication established
Current Interface Speed: Gen1 1.5 Gbps
External SATA Port: Not Capable
Hot Plug: Not Capable
Device Type: SATA

Even if it was only SATA 2, you'd still benefit from an SSD. Your sequential reads would be lower but you still get the main benefit which is the extremely fast access time.
