Question Whole Computer Crashes on Certain Games

I'm having this issue where, when playing certain games (in this case, League of Legends and any game utilizing the Source engine), my entire computer will randomly seize up while playing, with no discernible consistency, and my screens will go completely black. Under this pretense, I thought it was a graphics issue, so I've done everything short of buying a new graphics card, to no avail, as I cannot afford one. I have also tried running memtest and diskcheck (i think those are the right terms), all coming back clean. Anyone else have similar issues, and willing to help? I would re-install windows, however I have no place to backup the nearly 2TB of stuff I have on my PC.

What about just reinstalling windows on your boot drive?
