Whole screen shifted to the left about 1cm leaving a black bar down the right

I've been using my computer just fine, this happened yesterday and I thought if I left it overnight it might resolve itself in the morning (the classic on/off routine) but no such luck.
I haven't got any other monitors plugged in, this literally happened overnight. I changed from a HDMI port to DVI/VGA on the same monitor but that was over a week ago and it's been fine since. I have no idea why this has happened and can't find any posts on here or anywhere else that works to fix it.

P.S. I have a GTX 970, if that's of importance.

Wow, as soon as I posted this I solved it!
I just went through my monitors settings again, this time literally clicking everything and I found an auto config button that fixed it!
