Hi, I am currently looking to either upgrade my whole system or just replacing the graphics card and installing more ram.

My current specs:
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER
  • RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
  • GPU: Zotac AMP Extreme GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB
  • PSU: Corsair RM750i 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
I bought the graphics card around 6 years ago and upgraded everything else around 3 years ago. I am now considering an upgrade to the graphics card and potentially getting 64gb of ram. The reason for this is that the system gets to its limits in VR (mainly dcs), however I am not sure if sticking with the mainboard/processor and buying new ddr4 ram is worth it?

For graphics card replacement i am not decided yet what I will get. Either the 4080/4090 or RX 7900 XTX

If you're worried about performance, do this test: Run every game you want to run at the lowest settings and see what FPS you get. If you don't like the numbers you get, then you'll need to upgrade the CPU. Though in that light, you can still get a very good upgrade by going with a 5800X3D.

Get a 5800x3d. If you have a Micro Center near you they sell for $290.

64GB of memory is fine but I'd go with only 2 sticks. Hard to get Ryzen's to run 4 sticks at 3200MHz. Memory is cheap.

Upgrade GPU with money saved.

Enjoy.

Man, Pascal was such a legendary generation. Every single card from that gen was wonderful.

From 1050 Ti to 1080 Ti, all of the cards had fantastic value.

They were so good, that they are still good three generations after.
