Question Why all of a sudden is my wired connection worse than my wireless?

Because wifi is so bad in my area (the best service providing at most, 1mb/s) I use my phone's 4G hotspot tethered to my pc as an alternative and works great until today where my ping keeps bouncing between 180-1000 ping on online games, my wireless connection is unstable so its not prefered. I've changed leads with a shorter newer one and it hasnt helped. Any Ideas?

Also speedtest shows its around 24ping consistently.

I can only assume cellular congestion in your area. Simply because you wire to a device that does wireless doesn't magically make your backhaul better.

Do you only have WISP style offerings?

Never happened before unfortunately, wired doesn't produce much lag as using wireless despite the phone being wireless too

and i don't know what you mean by WISP style offerings
