[SOLVED] Why am I getting download speed of around 300 to 400 kbps on my pc even when I have a 50mbps connection?

I am getting 6 mbps download speed on steam and 1.7 to 1.8 mbps on mega, when I downloaded a yt video I got download speed of around 7 mbps.

6 * 8 = 48 = close enough to 50.

Download speeds are never guaranteed as the variety of sources on the Internet have different available bandwidth.

MBps or Mbps? Again, these are two different things; websites generally report download speeds in megabytes, not megabits. 7 MBps would be about as expected, 7 Mbps would not be. It's important to not confuse the two; do you have a screenshot of the download speed of the site in which you get 7 something?

As for some websites, not every website will offer you maximum download speeds. It depends on a number of issues.

2. If a performance test from speedtest.net shows speed at or close to what you pay your ISP for, that's all you can do.

Speed test is showing speed around 50 mbps(speed of the plan we paid for).

Then any difference or 'slowdown' comes from the source. There is nothing more you can do.

These are in KBps and MBps, not Kbps or Mbps. These are very specific terms and this is a field in which precision is extremely important. While there's nothing serious that results here outside of a "Who's On First?" comedy sketch, some day, your not being precise with these descriptions could result in you frying a motherboard or a CPU.

The 7 MBps is perfectly normal for a 50 Mbps, in fact on the good side (you were probably getting speeds from your ISP closer to 60 MBps at this point). The 400 KBps is slow, but from what you've provided, there's no particular reason to think it's anything you can resolve on your end and more likely something related to the source.

A Ferrari can go 200 MPH, but if the Ferrari's on a dirt road and can't go 200 MPH, it's the fault of the road, not the car.
