Why am I not able to upgrade my RAM beyond 4GB limit with a 64x OS on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR630E laptop?

I have a 2007 Sony Vaio VGN-AR630E and interested in maxing out the RAM. I found 2 x 2GB DDR2 800 MHz to be reasonably priced. This find made me speculate, why cannot I upgrade the memory beyond the factory stated 4GB limit? I recall reading an article stating the CPU can handle more RAM if a 64x version of windows is installed. I am unable to find information on the motherboard itself. Anyone willing to take a stab at this inquiry?

I'll eventually remove the case and find the motherboard ID on the board.

I looked up that particular model and it seems the motherboard only supports 4GB of ram. If you look at the included link under Memory the max supported is 4GB. Hope this helps!

Hardware limits suck... no way around them except to buy one with bigger limits. Sorry dude
