Question Why are download speeds so different?

Hello; first post.

We have 5 devices in this house connected to our Livebox (router).
Two android phones and two laptops connected by WiFi
A desktop connected by ethernet cable.

I've not noticed speeds when downloading to androids. BUT one of the laptops and the desktop will download from internet at a max of 1.1Mb/s WHILE the other laptop downloads at up to 2,3Mb/s.

How can this be?

I could have added that the fast downloader laptop is on win7, the other laptop and the desktop are on win10

That doesn't count. Different places you download from can have different capabilities.

Reduce the variables.
speedtest.net to the same server, across all of your systems.
See what happens.

I feel an idiot.

The 'fast downloader' laptop is my wife's and she had switched to our 4g router, which is quicker than the landline one.
