Why are GPUs still so overpriced in India??

As of April 2018 the GTX 1050ti is at around $200 while the 1060 3gb variants are south of 300 in Amazon. Com out newegg.com. Why is it that Indian Amazon still sells these at above 280 i.e 1050ti?

Is there a way I could get hands on a card sold at MSRP now?

Solution
I would assume for the same reason they're overpriced anywhere else - demand from cryptomining.

The only way to get your hands on a card at MSRP is sheer luck. I managed a few months ago (in the US) to get a GTX 1080 Founders Edition from Nvidia, but I'd gotten an alert for it, and within 5 minutes, everything was sold out.

Other sellers wanted to sell it at high price because they know people will still buy it. Same problem here in Philippines 1050 ti still @ 220$ below while 1060 3gb is around 300.

Im buying a 1060 jetstream 6gb on friday for like 80$ over its msrp considering its 2 years old. But fuck it i dont wanna buy a used card, you cant trust anyone these days about 2nd hand GPUS. Some miners are liars they already made profit still selling it below the price they bought it and saying not used for mining.I dont wanna risk my money that i worked hard for.

Also some problems are people used it for 2 years and they still selling it at the price they bought them or even higher, because the price now is pretty high. The market for GPUS now is just fucked up shit.

Right now im the same boat as you i dont know which to get the 1060 3gb over 60$ its msrp or the 6gb thats 80$ its msrp

Mining isn't that bad for cards though

yea but it uses the cards potential everyday and might shorten the life span.

eeeeh I dunno eventually it would but the only parts likely to die are the fans

All prices are just like every item you buy supply and demand.

Unless it's RAM when they choke supply and get sued 😉

Not sure how that will work out just because I can make X amount their no laws saying I got to.

Class action lawsuit says otherwise. You're not allowed to not compete on purpose to jack up prices.

I have noticed miners selling their rigs for decent prices now. Just this morning, I saw an ad on craigslist... someone selling a mining rig with 6 GTX 1080 Ti cards in for $6,000.
Considering how much each card cost him + the motherboard, memory, cpu, psu & the frame... he's losing money for sure. Looks like mining is starting to get to the 'not worth it' point.

Ether ASICs are on sale now and they trounce GPUs

Pre-order, or are they actually delivering?

Any links to articles on this? I'd love to see how this affects GPU prices and how quickly.

Preorder for delivery late 2018 but noones buying video cards for mining now cos they're gonna be a dead investment in less than a year. It's already affecting prices apparently there's some places that have got them around $50 above MSRP which could be explained away by VRAM pricing. I can actually buy a RX 580 and have it delivered tomorrow on amazon for less than £300 when they've been 350-400 preordered for ages.
