Why are GTX 1050 cards not working with my new PC build?

This is my PC part list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fPm7Cb the GTX 1050 seems to not work for me. The first card I bought for my PC build was the GTX 1050 (from eBay and it was unbranded, yeah I know I'm stupid) It didn't work with my build, caused a lot of issues and the PC didn't read the card correctly. I returned it after bringing it to Best Buy where the geek squad guy said it's most likely my card that's not working, he said just buy a cheaper card and return it later to test it out and see if it works.

My PC worked fine with the GeForce GT 710 Low Profile card I bought at Best Buy. I returned the card a week later and bought a new GeForce GTX 1050 card from Micro Center. I installed it into my PC and I hooked up an HDMI cable to it and the monitor didn't read anything, also the fans stopped running after the PC booted up. I was wondering if I broke my PC or not so I took out the current card and installed an older card I had in my old PC and it worked perfectly fine.

I'm wondering if I should even try buying another GTX 1050 card. Maybe you can tell me if it's even compatible (even though pcpartpicker says it is) or give me an alternative to the GPU. Thank you for reading!

Sincerely,

Lee

Be sure to uninstall the old drivers. Use this program http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Try using the onboard graphics to do this, without the 1050 installed. Once the old drivers are gone shut down and install the 1050, keep powering on and off until you get video. You can also try different video cables like DVI / Display port. Once you get video go into BIOS and disable on board graphics or you'll run into problems. Once that's disabled install the new graphics drivers and you should be good to go.

Does your 1050 need 4 or 6 pin PCIE power possibly?
