Why are mSATA SSDs more expensive than SATA SSDs?

Aren't the innards basically the same except for the connection differences? I would have thought that a drive on a card would be less than a drive on a card in a case.

It's smaller and has a larger margin of error when produced.

Now that you mention it, I do see prices starting to coming down now that more boards are coming with M.2 slots.
