Playing MechWarrior Online, fairly intense game.. and my FPS is around 30 out of combat, and about 10 when in combat. Most other people say they have about 40 even while in combat.

I've got:
Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium SP1
8 GB Ram

Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Total available graphics memory 4095 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 1024 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 3071 MB

AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.60 GHz

When I go to my Hard Drive properties it shows two disk drives under "Hardware" tab
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NS90 ATA Device -- DVD/CD-ROM drives
WDC WD6401AALS-00L3B2 ATA Device - - Disk drives

I Believe I have a Western Digital drive, and it's got 466GB of 596GB free.

I run a single screen setup with 1680 x 1050 resolution.

DirectX version 10

Any idea what my weakest link is?

That is probably a decently CPU intensive game because it is online. Your 4100 isn't very good. AMD even said it was crap and they made it. This is why the pushed out the 4300 so fast. Your gPU should allow you to play at low/medium settings no problem. But your CPU is likely the problem. your internet is also a factor in an online game.

Wow... i thought it was a good CPU, crazy. I was thinking for sure my Hard Disk was the problem...

Internet seems to be very quick, at least for downloads... and i do put it on "extreme" settings =P

thanks for the help!

I have the fx4100 and it is extremely overclockable, you should be able to push it to 4.2 on default voltage and if you have decent cooling even more, I am currently at 4.5ghz stable and it runs like a charm when my pc wants to work😉

That would be awesome... any suggestions for how to do that? I understand how to get into the BIOS but not really sure if thats even where i need to go.

Thanks.
