Why are my load times getting faster?

hey everyone i have a question. is it possible for load times for say BF3 maps to decrease even after no upgrades? i mean i love the map caspian border so iplay it like every other round. but im noticing since i installed the game the load time for that map is much much faster. i use an old 5400 rpm 1TB drive. is this how drives work? do they speed up when asked to load the same thing over and over?

Does your 1TB HDD have cache (16MB, 32MB)? If so, that's probably the reason your load times are getting faster.

^^ Or you may have done a fragmented install and Windows has defragged that portion. Just a wild guess.
