I bought this ram as a set 6 years ago. Been getting some fun incurable bsod so decided time to run a ram test to see despite the stickers saying they're both 1600... Not exactly true. .

My quest is could this be effecting my system negativity? I know same power ram is idea but the sticker and speccy clocked them the same. Idk what the deal is here... And is it even a problem? View: http://imgur.com/a/hJoTl1C

if you set them to ‘linked’ in the BIOS they will both run at the lower stick’s speed. Shouldn’t affect the system in any negative way. If they’re set to ‘unlinked’ then they might cause problems

Memtest can be off sometimes reading default values rather than the real speeds at which RAM is actually running.

You can download and run the portable version (no installation needed) of HWiNFO from here. Run it and in the summary windows that pops us check at what speed/clock the RAM is running and post a screenshot of the HWiNFO here.

As for BSODs they can be caused by a very large number of causes including faulty RAM. Did you run one RAM module at a time at least 4 passes for each stick of RAM? And did memtest report any errors?

You can set your Windows to drop minidumps next time you have a BSOD, upload the dump file somewhere like Google Drive or Dropbox and polst a link here and we can have a look at the dumps and perhaps find the cause of BSODs.

If HWiNFO is still reporting different speeds then try swapping the sticks’ positions to see if it’s the actual motherboard slot that’s the issue or if it’s the stick. There should also be an error code near the bottom of the BSOD screen that could also help identify what the problem is, but I agree that uploading a memdump is the best option
