A slightly fact-less observation............
Presumably refering to the 6800 ?
Read the specs and reviews ?
You do know that the 6800 has significant VIDEO-processing functions
that have not yet been turned on by the current drivers, even "beta"
ones ? These functions also consume transistors and some power, even
when nominally "inactive" The power in the 6800 is solely-related to
transistor-count --- the process technology is 130nm, same as ATi
X800. Anyway, nVidia is being deliberately conservative in their
power-supply recommendations, and assuming that a PC with the 6800
will also have a top-end CPU (Prescott, anybody ?) and a bunch of fast
disks.
Wait 3-6 months until both the 6800 and X800 drivers are mature, then
publishing your performance-functionality/power observations at that
time may make a lot more sense.
