Why many elderly people seem to be so resistant to learning basic computer skills? The 20th century saw the most rapid advancement of human civilization, so it not like they haven't adapted to new technologies throughout their lives. So what gives?
Yes, this is a generalization and I know several senior citizens who know their way around Windows or OS X competently enough. I also know that people of all ages sometimes reject the latest technologies. But I know many more who absolutely refuse to use a computer, almost as if it's repugnant to them. Even those who attempt simple tasks act so warily as if the computer will explode if they push a wrong key.
