Howdy all,

I just bought a new laptop, the Acer Swift 3 SF314-54. I like the laptop in general, but the power settings are driving me crazy. It seems like almost all of the power settings I had on my old computer (an Alienware m14x R2) are gone. The first image I posted shows the power setting options I have on my new Acer. The second image I posted shows (some of) the power setting options I have on my Alienware. Any help would be appreciated!

In Power Options on a laptop there should be separate configuration settings (side by side) for when running on battery power (not plugged in) and running off mains power (plugged in).

The first menu shown seems like the fairly standard layout for laptops on battery
The 2nd menu shows on PC whether you in High Performance or Balanced.

high performance: in the screen before this, does it have a header Show additional plans as that is where high permanence might be hiding

Exactly. Show additional plans, then set the power plan to high performance. Then, go into the advanced options for high performance and scroll down to processor power management and set the minimum state to 8% and make sure the cooling policy is set to active.
