Why are these PSU different price?

First why do you need 1200 watts?

Second, it is a real pain having to click 8 or 10 links when you could have just copied and pasted the names. 😉

Third, yes there is a difference. They are made by different manufacturers.

Fourth, if you really need a 1200w power supply you want the best one you can get. There is no going cheap on a system that needs that much power since you have over $1000 just in graphics cards.

Check here to make sure you need that much power.

Assuming you really do need that much these would be my choices.

SeaSonic X-1250. Seasonic X series is among the best on the market. The benchmark all other high end units are compared to.

Corsair AXi. As good if not better than the Seasonic X. Made by Flextronics. Expensive but excellent.

EVGA Supernova. A newer platform made by SuperFlower and a truly amazing performer. Easily the equal of the other 2. A 9.7/10 from Jonnyguru is impressive to say the least.

Thanks for the help guys, but I am on a tight budget do you have anything that is under 200 dollars?

The EVGA is $204 after rebate. Once again why do you need that much power? 3 x R9 290x cards? 3 x GTX 780s? 3 x Titans? $1600 - $3000 worth of graphics cards don't need a budget power supply.

I am actually only using 1 gtx 780 1 nvidia quadro 4000 1 asus xonar essence sound card and like 4 3tb hdd hard drives. I don't know much about power usage, so I figure I get as much as possible.

That is just wrong. A Rosewill Lightning better than any Seasonic? Not so much. It's based on the older SuperFlower Golden Green platform.

35mm with a single GTX 780 and a Quadro 4000 get an 850w power supply just to be sure and that is likely overkill. The soundcard uses about 10 watts.

Here are some excellent choices.

Corsair HX for $129.

PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III for $139.

And this XFX for $125. All XFX units are made by Seasonic and this is a rebranded Seasonic X series. An excellent unit for about $30 cheaper than buying a Seasonic branded unit.

Is corsair HX good psu? Or NEW? I think corsair RM is new.
Was any of those cheaper or better than Rosewill lightning 800w?
If you are a moderator you can tell for ure how much wattage Rosewill lightning 800w gives for 100% load?
I mean how muchmore than 800w? :)

You do not know much of superflower or rosewill psus? Do you?
Now I must say that mode need to do bit more reading what is really good and reliable psu.

Hardwaresecrets Golden Award.

Obvious junk. :sarcastic:

You are posting links to reviews from 2011. The SuperFlower Golden Green platform is not even their top model anymore. It was replaced by the Leadex platform. And Superflower, Delta and Flextronics are the only companies comparable to Seasonic.

I guess I should learn about power supplies a bit more before making recommendations.

As for return rates it depends on who you ask and market share.

The NVIDIA Quadro 4000 is a 142 Watt card.

Based on your system configuration a high quality 750 Watt PSU would be sufficient.

So tell me why are lots of poeople selling "new" HX 750 and 850 away when they do return from warranty?

Ant they have buyd new ones? Review do not tell are they really reliable. Do they?

How about this.
Here is superflower 450w golden green sold over 800 units.
And 1% is send back to store because there was issue.

How about corsair AXi? That must be good because it is so exoensive?

Returned only 8% and sold 70.

Seasonic i good. I have one. But it is not so good that superflower or rosewill are.

How about this? Is this good?

Is moderator having personal issues is PSU is not seasonic?
Im just trying to figure out what is good for OP maker :)

But seems like this getting out of this planet so I stop now posting this tread. Jut hope that someone is getting good and reliable build here :)

Other PC cooling silencer is seasonic other one is not.
I think 750w is seasonic and 850 is superflower.
Both really good :)

Thanks everyone, I also have a gtx 650. Do I need an extra card to run physx. If so, I will have to use the gtx 780 gtx 650 and the quadro 4000. I also have like 4 hdd hard drives installed will that take up any extra power.
