Hey, i have a Asus H61M-E Motherboard ( i think its rev 3.0 based on box ) And i want to buy a i7-3770 or i7-3770K, but on Asus website this motherboard does not support i7-3770 ( it only supports i7-3770T ) why ? I mean its a 2 and 3 gen motherboard so why it's not supporting normal I7 3770 and I7 3770k ?

And another question: I have an RX 570 GPU. If this motherboard doesn't support i7-3770 can i buy an i7-2700k ? ( its supported ) but 2nd gen of intel does not supporting PCIe gen 3, so will there be a performance hit, like 10 or more fps drop ?

thanks

if the 3770k is not supported, then don't buy it, you will just waste money.

i7-2600k is in the list of supported cpu. I suggest buying that one, it's good enough for 720p to 1080p for most games, if paired with your RX 570. For heavy gaming, you should also have at least 16gb of ram.

the site may be wrong ? because i5 3th gen is supported, but why i7 3th not supported

the chipset is H61
and on the motherboard box thats writed
Asus P8H61-M LX Rev 3
but on the board thats Asus H61M-E

the site may be wrong ? because i5 3th gen is supported, but why i7 3th not supported

it support, just make sure u use the latest bios. I used to test xeon e3 1240 v2 to check if my cpu is fine 2 yrs ago with my friend Asus H61M-K, and it booted. Sometimes its asus fault for not updating the list.

Also if u want to use PCIe 3.0 make sure your motherboard does support it, since the x16 lanes are connected directly to the cpu and not usinf any pcie switch in the board, it might be able to just connect to the latest pcie 3.0
