Why Buy a 2600k ?

If ya need hyperthreading, should the 2600k be an option ? Well to my mind at $30 it was a "no" answer. after a few seconds consideration .... but at $10, it's a "no brainer".

Microcenter had some recently for $200; that's a no-brainer, especially when you combine it with a board combo discount. It's a 200 mile drive for me, so someday I'll get there.

When its as cheap as oldie said, $200, its a no brainer. I went 2500K because we don't have a MC here in Tucson and I don't need SMT as I mainly game, watch videos and browse the web.

But if you can pick up a 2600K for near the same or the same price as a 2500K, go for it.

Agree with oldie. If it was $200, I would easily go with the 2600K over the 2500/2550K because of the hyper-threading.

Since 2500k cant do HT......so it's not "on the table".

Subject of discussion was ..... with the 2600k just $10 cheaper than the 2700k, does it make any .... if ya need HT .... sense not to buy the 2700k
