Why buy a mini card?

So I was wondering, whats the difference between a 2 fan GPU to a mini?

From my understanding its just the extra fan right? same power?

Do people buy the mini for smaller towers?

Anyways let me know what you guys think.

The mini as in GTX 970 mini from EVGA and Gigabyte are designed for mini itx systems that can't use a huge card because of all the space it uses up.

The extra fan helps, though i'm amazed at what these single fan graphics cards are capable of cooling.

Right, Cause I recently switched from what seems to be a GTX 760 (mini?) it has one fan, although in the description from newegg didnt mention mini

So I was wondering, what the difference was? I never had any issues with the GTX 760 going above 60 degrees, but with my GTX 980 is clocks in in the mid 70s. Some guy who was interested in my GTX 760 told me it performs worse than a twin fan one. He also said it "wont turbo as high"

So I suppose im really trying to get to the bottom of the difference in power/cooling/OCing in a mini Vs the bigger ones?

It's designed for Mini ITX systems, with small cases and motherboards. If you don't have a big case, it may happen that a long graphics card won't fit in your system, so they provide these cards. They cool just fine.
