Why can't i Burn a 750Mb file onto an 800Mb CD?

Hi

Just went out and bought a pack of 800Mb CD-R so i can burn a file thats about 750Mb.And Nero is still telling me i ain't got enough space on the CD?

Help!!!!

Another weird thing is the discs are 800mb'but in the My Computer Area it shows the Blank disc as 702Mb.

hmmm
go into nero's settings and increase the max burn lengths appropriately. Also, enable overburning.

hope it helps.

P.S. what burner do you have? some of the older ones couldnt physically handle ultra large CD's. Real depends on the brand/age.

one thing to remember, just like hard drives some space will be taken up for the fat listing, directories and such.
so y wont get 800 mb on a 800mb disk.

Have you gone to the CDRWs manufacturers site, to see if there is a firmware update available for your burner?
