Question Why can't I detect my Chromecast-enabled TV to cast a Chrome browser tab?

I can cast apps from my phone and stuff, but I don't know why I can't cast a Chrome browser tab from my desktop. Both are connected to 1 network.

A stupid question, but are your Chromecast and the desktop connected to same router? If so - how is the desktop connected? It could be that your router does not "connect" Wired to Wireless networks.

Yeah, it's both connected to one network. I was just thinking that the two devices can't communicate ("connect") if one is wireless and wired. Don't know if it's true though.
