I live in a not very rural area, less than a mile away are multiple businesses walmart, starbucks, quiktrip, etc which all have internet. My address on every non satellite provider i have checked availability on does not serve where i am. Satellite does of course as well as an address across a highway from mine (fairly close) can get service. Im wondering what could be causing this as well as any other alternatives. My cellular provider does have hotspot but it is incredibly poor and basically impossible to game with until 2:30am or download anything. I have signed up for Starlink but it will take a while it seems for Elon to give me my schtuff. Thanks in advance

Solution
The 'cause' is not enough residential density.

There simply aren't enough houses to justify the cost of running all that cable.
Even 1 mile can cost thousands.
