Wow I can't believe I missed this and that nobody caught it.
I was reading how to do things in Spotify and there is Spotify Connect.
That's what I wanted, I can't believe I missed that. I been trying to get my idea to work since September. Now cold to sit out much, still a couple nice days it's never too late and will be early for next year. ................................ I want to remote assist a desktop hooked to a pioneer and sit at picnic table w laptop.
Ok I could use linux mint complicated remote app. I have a windows seven disk already installed
on another desktop in the house not moving that computer. Any suggestions ? Is there a way to do mint inside xp?

It's safer to just replace XP with a Linux distro, it's less hassle and Spotify works fine on any Debian based Linux like Ubuntu and Mint. Could you run a VB of Linux for Spotify? Maybe, that depends on the specs of the laptop mainly the amount of RAM and speed of the storage. You could also run a portable version from a USB but it's going to be slower overall.
