Why cant i over-clock my i3 530?

I have recently took into interest into one of my old computer which i plan to upgrade and sell.
One of the main aspects in it, of course is my CPU, the I3 530 which is an very overclock-able chip (usually). For some reason, when ever i enter the BIOS, my CPU is blocked out with all the values being there, but unable to be accessed. Does anyone know what is wrong? Any advice is appreciated, thanks

What Motherboard are you using? if it's a dell HP or other pre built PC don't expect to overclock.

Damn, cant even remember if it is pre-built. Hmm, weird. Must be though, only explaination. Thanks anyway dude .
