I remember this from mainly SFF pcs correct? In all fairness, the ducting works pretty well, and eliminates the added noise of an extra fan. At least in the Dell example I recall (and it was Pentium 4, which kind of had a reputation of being a scorcher)
It was explained it helps with the air flow and you still want to remove it? What u want to do with this old PC anyway? U can remove to clean it, but during operation, the shroud should be in place. Can i remove it or i should just leave it there?
it is a cpu shroud, and yep just like jsmithepa answer you might be better to leave it there
I wouldn't be surprised, though the SFF I have had a large fan over the CPU, and a funnel that went from it to the vent holes in the case.I remember this from mainly SFF pcs correct?
