Why cant i see the intenet sign on my task bar

I have always seen the internet sign on my task bar but it has vanish . I can still acesss the internet. I have both wireless and wired connections?

So what is the issue with that icon being gone, aside from it being gone? Did you use it for anything? What exactly was this "internet sign" look like? Did it have a menu that popped up when you selected it?

Is that last thing a question or a statement? Because it ends in a "?" but reads like a statement.
