I have a Dell Inspiron N5050 with windows 7 and suddenly it stopped connecting to my wifi. It can detect my neigbors' wifi but not mine. I uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless card driver but that didn't work. I disabled my Macafee antivirus software but that didn't work. My wireless driver is fully updated. My router is working fine because my other devices connect to it. Can someone please help me?

Try deleting the wireless card device in device manager (in control panel). Choose NO if it asks to remove drivers.

Then reboot computer.

If that does not work, try doing a Windows System restore to a date when the wireless worked. Be careful with windows updates that have anything to do with wireless drivers.

Setting my 802.11 mode to "Mixed 802.11g and 802.11b" resolved the issue.

It was the 802.11n that was causing my problem.

I experimented with different combinations of channel auto, 1, 6, 11, etc but it did not effect the detectibility.
