[SOLVED] why ddr3 1333mhz is showing as 1066mhz in motherboard?

my motherboard is asus P5G41T-M LX.
i bought a kingston 4gb ddr3 1333mhz (double rank) Ram.
but when i install it into my mobo it is showing 1066mhz 4gb (among two slots only one slot is used another slot is empty) !
is it because of using single channel mode or my mobo doesn't support 1333mhz ddr3?
should i add another 4gb ddr3 1333mhz?

Ah, this makes sense now. So you will have to overclock your memory for it to run at 1333. 1066 stock is really great for the lga775 platform as most of the times the fastest it was, was 800.

but in asus official website it is showing mobo supports dual channel 1333(oc)/1066/800.
and i don't know how to over clock it?
can just buy another ram to make it dual channel and can it make it 1333mhz?

The OC means you have to overclock it. I would read the manual as there will probably be specific instructions on how to do it. No, any other ram will behave the exact same.

And to be honest, you probably won't be able to tell the difference between 1333 and 1066 except in benchmarks.

Welcome!

You just need to make sure you have sufficient cooling as stuff will generate more heat when overclocking. I would just make sure things are not boiling hot in the current configuration (warm is okay). Since the ram is already rated for the OC speed, you really shouldn't see any heat difference on the ram. This is where an infrared thermometer comes in handy (the gun type).
